New Release - "City Girl" by The Caracals

The Caracals is the brainchild of charismatic songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Johnny Cis, an Orange County-based artist with a creative vision and a passion for retro aesthetics.

The band's new track "City Girl" details summer romance, alternating slightly nostalgic lyrics with a stark psych-rock twist and the group’s trademark indie-rock energy. The song was recorded at Jazzcats Studios (Tijuana Panthers, The Buttertones) and was mastered by Grammy-nominated sound engineer Kelly Hibbert (Allah-Las, Little Dragon).

The Caracals are particularly inspired by early 2000s indie-rock, and the period’s unique wave of indie-rock bands. Johnny’s indie-rock influences are tastefully mixed with surf, beat and flavorful '60s vibes, making for a direct and unique take on garage rock music.

The band is expected to release their debut EP in September 2018. The Caracals worked with Brian Lucey (The Black Keys, Royal Blood), for their recent single release, “In The Dark.” The track was featured on the popular Spotify playlist “Fresh Finds: Six Strings.” Check out their latest track below.
